What is the 4-H Mission?

Our Mission, consistent with the National Mission, seeks to meet the unique needs of Alaska 4-H members.

The 4-H Youth Development Education Program creates supportive environments for Alaska's culturally diverse youth and adults to reach their fullest potential. In support of this mission, Alaska 4-H will:

  • provide formal and non-formal community-focused experiential learning to effectively meet the unique needs of Alaskans
  • develop the skills and talents that benefit Alaska's youth throughout life
  • foster strong leadership and volunteerism in Alaska's youth and adults
  • build strong internal and external partnerships / collaborations for programming and funding
  • strengthen Alaska's families and communities, and use research-based knowledge and the land grant university system
  • use research-based knowledge and the land-grant university system

Achievement of this mission will result in capable, competent, and caring Alaskan citizens.
